Tire Pressure Adjustment Calculator
Turn cold, hot, and target hot pressures into the next cold pressure to try.

Turning hot pressure into the next cold setting
This calculator estimates the cold pressure to try next when a tire finishes a run above or below your target hot pressure.
Inputs and calculation
- The cold pressure used for the last run, the hot pressure measured promptly afterward, and the desired hot pressure.
- An optional expected ambient-temperature change for the next session.
Next cold pressure = prior cold pressure + (target hot pressure − measured hot pressure) + ambient correction.
The simple ambient correction is 0.1 psi per °F or 0.012 bar per °C entered.
How to interpret the result
- A negative change means start lower next time; a positive change means start higher. Treat it as the next controlled test, then measure again.
Assumptions and limits
- The estimate assumes a comparable tire, run length, pace, load, and measurement timing. Sun exposure, tire temperature, weather, and driving intensity can change the pressure rise.
- A target hot pressure is vehicle- and tire-specific, not a universal optimum.
Example: reducing an overshoot
If 28 psi cold becomes 36 psi hot and the target is 34 psi with no ambient change, the next cold starting point is 26 psi.
Keep pressure changes with session notes
