Corner Balance Calculator

Calculate cross weight, left/right balance, and front/rear split from four scale pads.

Reading corner weights and cross weight

This calculator turns four scale-pad readings into total weight, front weight percentage, and diagonal cross-weight percentage.

Inputs and calculation

  • Left-front, right-front, left-rear, and right-rear scale readings in one consistent unit.

Total weight is the sum of all four corners. Cross weight = (right front + left rear) ÷ total × 100.

Front weight = (left front + right front) ÷ total × 100.

How to interpret the result

  • Cross weight describes the diagonal load distribution; it does not need to be exactly 50% for every car or discipline. Compare changes with handling balance and repeatable scale conditions.

Assumptions and limits

  • Scale on a level surface with the driver, fuel, ballast, tire pressures, sway-bar state, and ride heights set as the car will run.
  • The calculator reports distribution only; it cannot prescribe perch changes or account for chassis bind.

Example: a 2,750 lb car

With 750 lb LF, 730 lb RF, 620 lb LR, and 650 lb RR, cross weight is 49.1% and front weight is 53.8%.
